I think it's nifty that the co-founder of Screeching Weasel, John "Jughead" Pierson plays in a band that at every show plays just as their moniker suggests as if it was a blackout by unplugging their instruments and playing some acoustic music. So unless you?ve heard of Screeching Weasel and most have noting the influence they've had on a variety of pop-punk bands, you might be surprised to find out that they play pop-punk tunes. Of course they do it all with acoustic guitars. Vocalist Lizzie Eldredge leads the way with her luscious voice that will have the indie kids in a tizzy while the rest of the band writes tremendous songs that boast intriguing arrangements for a standard five-piece. Great idea, great songs, and an even greater band are what you have when "Zeitgeist's Echo" lands in your hands.
